KCSE works on behalf of children in the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas community to make sure parents meet their financial responsibilities. Our job isn’t just about payments. We help locate parents, establish paternity, set up support orders, and collect and disburse payments so kids have what they need to grow up secure. We also believe strong families come from more than money changing hands. That’s why we connect parents with education, training, and support services that encourage active, responsible parenting alongside financial support.

Apply for ServicesChild support is a court-ordered payment to help cover the cost of raising a child. In most cases, payments go from a noncustodial parent to the child’s primary caregiver. This could be a custodial parent, a legal guardian, or a relative. A tribal or state agency may also receive certain payments. At its core, child support is about making sure parents share responsibility for their kids.
Guiding Principles
The easiest way to make regular child support payments is to have your employer sent them to us directly. Just tell us the name of your current employer, and we will take it from there. You can also mail voluntary payments to KCSE, PO Box 163, Horton, KS 66439. We also accept payments in person at the KCSE office in the Kickapoo Judicial Center, 822 K20 Hwy, Horton, KS.
An income withholding order (IWO) is a legal notice. It has the same effect as a court order. It tells an employer to automatically deduct child support from an employee's wages. After every deduction, the employer sends the child support payment to KCSE. We then record the payment and disburse it to the appropriate party.
Yes, KCSE will work with you to establish paternity. We will contact the alleged father to find out if they will acknowledge paternity or agree to genetic testing.
The first step to changing your child support amount is asking us to review it. Either parent can do that when one or both of them has had a material change in circumstances. For example, a parent's income going up or down, a change in the cost of childcare or healthcare, or when a child is no longer eligible for support. Begin the process by submitting a Request for Modification Review form.
Where you received your child support order determines when it ends. FOr the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas, children are entitled to support up to the age of 18. Children how turn 18 while enrolled full time in high school may continue to receive support until June 30 of that school year. This applies to children in an approved alternative program as well. Even after current support ends, KCSE will continue collecting past-due support until the balance is paid in full.
